The German Hummel (meaning "bumblebee") was a self-propelled artillery piece used during World War II. Developed in 1942, it was based on the Panzer IV chassis and equipped with a powerful 150mm howitzer. Primarily used for long-range fire support, the Hummel was designed to deliver heavy artillery fire while remaining mobile on the battlefield. It could engage enemy positions, tanks, and infantry from a distance, offering the German Army a more flexible artillery platform. Despite its effectiveness, the Hummel was vulnerable to direct hits due to its relatively thin armor. Approximately 700 units were produced between 1943 and 1944.
