The German Panzer III was a medium tank used extensively during the early years of World War II. Introduced in 1937, it played a key role in Germany's Blitzkrieg tactics. The Panzer III's design emphasized mobility and firepower, with a reliable chassis and relatively good speed. It saw action in campaigns such as France, North Africa, and Russia. As heavier tanks like the Panther emerged, the Panzer III was gradually phased out by 1943.
