The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine, multi-role combat aircraft used extensively during World War II. Nicknamed the "Wooden Wonder" due to its lightweight wooden construction, the Mosquito was remarkably fast and versatile, serving as a bomber, fighter, reconnaissance plane, and night fighter. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, it could reach speeds over 400 mph. Its adaptability allowed it to carry out precision bombing, anti-shipping missions, and intelligence gathering. The Mosquito's success in a variety of roles made it one of the most effective and respected aircraft of the war, with over 7,700 units built.
