In 1916, before the U.S. entered World War I, Assistant Secretary of the Navy Franklin D. Roosevelt spurred the Navy to design an effective anti-submarine vessel. And by 1917 the Navy did just that, delivering the SC-1-class submarine chaser. Now, nearly 100 years later, you can deliver one of your own! This 1/35 scale balsa and basswood kit features laser-cut plank-on-frame construction, a realistic pilot house and mast, Y-Gun depth charge projectors and a deck gun, 26 cast metal fittings and numerous plastic detail parts, decals and a flag, rigging instructions, a display stand, and more. 37½" long with a 4¾" beam; skill level 3.
