Hotton & Davis. In May 1940, 50,000 military aircraft were produced under the order of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. William Knudsen, president of General Motors, was then asked to mobilize industry in America, along with all other automobile manufacturers to create an abundance of bombers, tanks, trucks, guns, and engines. Located near Ypsilanti, Michigan, Ford Motors built the world's famous bomber factory during WWII called Willow Run — named after a little creek in the same vicinity. In the spring of 1944, Willow Run was producing a four-engine B-24 bomber every hour on their assembly line. Take a look back at this iconic factory with rare archived images from the Yankee Air Museum in this intriguing title! 128 pages, 186 B&W photos, 6½"x 9¼", softcover.
