Operating as a bomber, fighter, and escort aircraft, the multi-role P-51 Mustang helped the Allies achieve air superiority over the Luftwaffe in the final years of World War II. More than 15,000 units of all variants were manufactured, and the iconic warbird saw service well beyond 1945 in various national militaries.

Captain C. E. "Bud" Anderson of the 363rd FS, 357th FG, served two combat tours during World War II. He flew his "Old Crow" P-51D on 66 missions, never once having to abort and, amazingly, never sustaining a single enemy hit. He scored an impressive 11¼ victories in his now legendary Mustang.

Part of Air Force 1's Smithsonian Series, this 1/72 scale, die cast model is a reproduction of Anderson's "Old Crow" as it appeared in 1944. It features engraved surface details, a glazed canopy, a well-equipped cockpit, authentic 357th FG markings, and an all-metal display stand. Measures approximately 5¼" long with a 6¼" wingspan.
