LardasEllington Field was one of 32 training airfields authorized by Congress in 1917. During WWI, it became one of the leading training fields in the U.S., reaching a peak of 250 aircraft and 5,000 troops. Follow the evolution of this field as it was used for aviation training during WWII and for combat training during the Cold War.
