About Eddie Rickenbacker and the 94th Aero Squadron
Flying with the 94th Aero Squadron, nicknamed the "Hat-in-the-Ring" Squadron, in 1918, Eddie Rickenbacker became the top-scoring American ace of World War I, credited with 26 confirmed aerial victories. His SPAD S.XIII, serial 4523, is one of the most recognized individual aircraft of the American Expeditionary Force's air service.
