About the F-4 Phantom II
The F-4 Phantom II is a twin-engine, supersonic fighter-bomber developed by McDonnell Aircraft, originally for the U.S. Navy and later adopted by the Air Force and Marine Corps. Introduced in the early 1960s and capable of speeds over Mach 2, it became a mainstay of American airpower during the Vietnam War and continued in frontline and reserve service for decades afterward.
