About the T-38 Talon
Developed by Northrop and introduced in the early 1960s, the T-38 was the first supersonic jet trainer and remains in service with the U.S. Air Force today. Powered by twin J85 turbojet engines and capable of Mach 1.2, it has trained generations of pilots headed for high-performance fighters such as the F-16 and F-22.
