Precision-detailed Sunstar diecast model cars bring some of motorsport's most iconic rally and road cars to scale, from Group B legends to postwar American classics. Built in Macau since the early 1990s, Sunstar earned its reputation among collectors for faithfully replicating cars other manufacturers often overlook, translating real automotive history into 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, and 1:43 scale detail that holds up under a collector's eye.

About Sunstar

Sunstar traces its roots to Sun Star Models Development Ltd, founded in Macau in 1993 as part of the broader Sun Star Group. The company entered model car manufacturing in 1989, formally adopting the Sunstar brand in 1998 for worldwide distribution. In 2001, Sunstar expanded its portfolio by acquiring the respected European diecast marque Vitesse, broadening its reach into European subjects alongside its own core lineup.

Known for tackling subjects that mainstream diecast brands often skip, Sunstar has built a loyal following among rally enthusiasts and American classic car collectors alike, offering scale reproductions across 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, and 1:43.

What Makes Sunstar Collectible

Sunstar's collectibility comes from its range and its willingness to model less commonly reproduced subjects: Group B rally icons like the Ford Escort RS1800, MG Metro 6R4, and Subaru Impreza 555 sit alongside American postwar classics — Lincoln, Cadillac, Horch, and vintage Ford trucks — each rendered with genuine diecast construction, opening features, and accurate factory paint and trim. For collectors chasing rally history or classic American iron that other 1:18 diecast model car brands don't cover, Sunstar's catalog fills a real gap.

Popular Sunstar Series

Sunstar organizes much of its catalog into a few well-known collections:

USA Collection: American classics spanning Cadillac, Lincoln, Mercury, Pontiac, Chevrolet, and vintage Ford trucks.
European Collection: Continental marques including Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Fiat, and the German-built Horch.
Rally: Group B and rally-era icons such as the Ford Escort RS1800, Subaru Impreza 555, and Lancia Delta.
