The SR-71 Blackbird was a long-range strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed by Lockheed for the United States Air Force. Introduced during the Cold War, it was designed to gather intelligence while flying at speeds exceeding Mach 3 and altitudes above 80,000 feet. Constructed largely from titanium to withstand the extreme heat generated by high-speed flight, the SR-71 featured advanced sensors and cameras capable of collecting detailed imagery over vast distances. Its remarkable speed and altitude made it exceptionally difficult to intercept, allowing it to complete missions in heavily defended airspace.
