About the Book
Written by armor historian James Kinnear, the book traces how these tractors, developed alongside the industrialization of the Soviet Union in the 1930s at plants in Chelyabinsk, Kharkov and Stalingrad, suffered heavy losses in the war's opening months but continued in production, their numbers later bolstered by American Lend-Lease vehicles. The same tractor types that served the Red Army in the darkest days of 1941 were still towing heavy artillery when Soviet forces reached Berlin.
