Brown. The acclaimed Images of America series is the go-to collection for classic Americana, examining various locations, events, and monuments across the country. This edition turns its attention to Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Fall, Texas.
Though the Sheppard Air Force Base was not officially christened until 1941, the area had served as a training center for military pilots since World War I. During World War II, thousands of aviators were trained there, and it remains today the largest training base in the entire Air Force. 128 pages, 217 B&W photos, 6½"x 9¼", softcover.
