Adopted on September 8, 1948, the North Korean flag features a red star (the universal symbol of communism); a large red stripe that expresses revolutionary traditions; two blue stripes that represent sovereignty, peace, and friendship; and two white stripes that symbolize purity. This reproduction of that flag is made of screened polyester, includes reinforced edging and brass grommets, and measures 5'x 3'.
