National Training Center and Fort Irwin

It's the only training area in the U.S. with enough land to conduct full brigade armored combat training. Designated as the Mojave Anti-Aircraft Range in 1941, it was later renamed Camp Irwin in honor of Major General George LeRoy Irwin, commander of the 57th Field Artillery Brigade during WWI.
