About the MiG-29
Developed by the Soviet Union in the 1970s and known by the NATO reporting name Fulcrum, the twin-engine MiG-29 is a fourth-generation air superiority fighter capable of operating from short, unprepared airstrips. It entered Soviet service in 1983 and remains in use with Ukraine and other former Warsaw Pact air forces, several of which have upgraded their fleets to the MU1 standard.
