The M46 Patton tank was named in honor of the famous U.S. General George S. Patton M4 Sherman. The U.S. 31st Infantry Division had been created in 1916 and named "Polar Bears". Late in 1950, the UN troops that had beaten North Korean troops and had advanced toward the Yalu River, were met by a number of Chinese troops. In late November, 1950 UN Forces were forced into a fighting retreat across the frozen Chosin Reservoir. They were evacuated by sea to Pusan and fought later in the war.

This 1/72 scale, Hobby Master, die cast model of a M46 features markings from the U.S. Army 7th Infantry Division. It includes a rotating turret, an elevating cannon, an accurate hull, non-moving tracks on non-rotating wheels, and an acrylic display case. Measures 3 ½ " long and 2" wide.
