About the Opel Blitz
The Opel Blitz was the German armed forces' primary truck of World War II, built around a 3.6-liter, 75-horsepower engine and used on all fronts to move troops, ammunition, and supplies. Over 70,000 were supplied to the Wehrmacht before Allied bombing and ground advances shut down production in 1944; the four-wheel-drive version modeled here was designated Kfz.305.
