Fort Bliss

Hamilton. Established in 1849, Fort Bliss — one of many frontier Army posts — followed the Mexican-American War and endured as an installation while other posts faded from memory. Starting from a small gathering of adobe building to a major Army maneuver location today, it has seen growth, decline, as well as two closures over the years.
