About the Fw 200 Condor

Originally designed as a civilian airliner, the four-engine Condor was adapted by the Luftwaffe for long-range maritime reconnaissance and anti-shipping missions over the Atlantic, posing a serious threat to Allied convoys before improved Allied fighter cover and radar reduced its effectiveness later in the war.
