About the F-5 Freedom Fighter

Developed by Northrop in the 1960s, the F-5 Freedom Fighter was a lightweight, twin-engine supersonic jet built for affordability and simplicity, capable of speeds over Mach 1.6. Armed with two 20mm cannons and a range of missiles and bombs, it was widely exported under U.S. military assistance programs and served with more than 30 countries.
