About the A-1 Skyraider
Designed late in World War II as a torpedo and dive bomber, the single-seat A-1 Skyraider entered service after the war's end and went on to see extensive combat in the Korean War and Vietnam War, where its heavy ordnance load and long loiter time made it a valued ground-attack aircraft.
