Description
The first steam-powered ironclad vessel in the Confederate Navy, the CSS Virginia - which was constructed from the charred, yet salvageable remains of the USS Merrimack - fought the USS Monitor at the Battle of Hampton Roads on March 9, 1862.
A beautiful, museum quality replica of the Virginia as she appeared during that naval battle, this 1/96 scale, wooden model features finely textured surfaces, including rivets and individual plates carved into the hull; metal rails, cleats, and vent grates; brass cannons and a brass propeller with an adjustable rudder; metal anchors and chains; lifeboats; and more. Hand-painted, it arrives ready to display on the included wooden display base with a metal nameplate.
34" Long x 7" Wide x 9" High
