About the Enola Gay
The Enola Gay, a B-29 Superfortress built in 1945, was flown by Colonel Paul Tibbets, who named the aircraft after his mother. Piloted by Tibbets on the Hiroshima mission, it remains one of the most historically significant aircraft of the Second World War.
