About the A-10 Thunderbolt II

Nicknamed the "Warthog," the A-10 was built around a 30mm GAU-8/A Avenger cannon capable of defeating armored vehicles. Introduced in 1977, it features a heavily armored cockpit and redundant systems for survivability at low altitude, and continues to serve in U.S. Air Force close-support operations.
