One of Corvette's first concept cars, the Mako Shark — featured in a 1961 episode of Route 66 — became the body-style inspiration for the legendary Sting Ray. The streamlined look and pointed snout was, at least partially, based on the look of the very fast fish. There were two generations of Mako Shark Corvettes, ultimately ending production in the late 1960s.

A faded blue replica of the '61 convertible, this 1/18 scale, die cast model features a finely cast body, a reverse-opening hood revealing a detailed engine, opening doors, a well-equipped interior (including bucket seats, dashboard detailing, and a shifter), real-working steering, a signature six-taillight design, plenty of simulated chrome, treaded tires, authentic badging, and an opening trunk. Measures approximately 10½" long.
