Manufactured continuously for half a century, the 88 was Oldsmobile's top-selling car from 1950 to 1974. The Super 88 was introduced in 1951 as an upscale model offering a more luxurious interior and restyled rear body panels. With its high-performance V8, the car is considered a predecessor to the muscle cars of the 1960s. The line was discontinued in 1999.
