Description

The P-61 Black Widow night fighter — introduced in 1944 — was the first operational U.S. military aircraft specifically designed to use radar technology. The twin-boom fighter was also credited with the final Allied air victory of World War II when the P-61B "Lady in the Dark," flown by Major Lee Kendall, took down a Japanese Tojo on August 14, 1945.

Part of the exciting new Smithsonian Series from Air Force 1, this 1/144 scale, die cast model is a replica of the legendary "Lady in the Dark" featuring engraved panel lines, rotating propellers, authentic markings, and a metal display base. Measures approximately 5" long with a 5½" wingspan.
