The LVTH6A1 entered service in 1957. 210 were built and served with the Marines in Vietnam. While not suited to prolonged land operations the LVTH6A1 was quite suited to operations in the swampy regions of Vietnam that were not suited to standard tanks and tracked vehicles. The LVTH5 and variants were retired from US use in the 1970's. Some were sold off to various allies such as the Philippines, The Republic of China and Chile. The Philippine Marines may still be operating a few today. This kit features a brand-new H-6 turret, new metal 105mm howitzer barrel along with ROCMC dedicated smoke grenade launchers, Psychological warfare loudspeaker system and ROCMC dedicated lifebuoy. In addition, decals for the USMC, ROCMC and PMC are all included.
